Lace Front Wig or Basic CapWig?
Ultimately, I believe it depends on the style of the wig.
You can’t pull your hair back on these wigs as long as the edge will show. Now look, the lace front wigs have a lace edge that is trimmed along your hairline and the base where the hairs attach to the lace is meant to blend with your scalp and natural hair. However, as long as you can tuck a lot of the hair back without it showing the wig edges, I have found full cap wigs with volume and bangs to be top-notch. Surely it’s a problem to tell the major differences in the pictures, To be honest I have included pictures of both on me below. This is the case. The huge issue I have found with these wigs is that lots of us are aware that there is no hair to blend with the lace so the spot where the hairs attach to the lace seems to stand out more on my skin.
Basically the full capwigs besides have a thick edge along the hairline and are not meant to blend as naturally.
a lace front wig with bangs should resolve this issue and make the hairline seem more natural.
I have tried both and I have to say for me, I reckon the basic capwigs work better. Therefore this site sells some really great ones. Now pay attention please. Thank you a lot for sharing the headscarf tutorials! They don’t work all year round but winter and fall they’re great. Another option is to get hats with hair, or wigs, attached to them. That said, this chemo thing is no joke, By the way I apologize for the delay in posting. It’s a problem to find the time or the energy to write and all I seem to seek for to do is sleep.I guess that’s just cancer sometimes you just don’t have energy for anythingelse but survival and I am learning to accept that.
I am doing best in order to keep some semblance of my normal life and I am still working full scale aside from chemo and recovery days. I am constantly exhausted and it seems that life never slows down. I have had so many people compliment me when I am wearing my wigs. Choosing a wig with highlights make it appear more real and add dimension to your look. You should take it into account. They are usually blown away to learn that they are not my natural hair. Actually, look for a wig with highlights if you need the wig to look natural. Highlights all the way. Another question isSo the question is this. Highlights or Monotone? I can not stress this enough! Flat or Volume. Some synthetic wigs are created with pre made volume.
Wigs that appear more flat tend to be thinner and are harder to style and amp up.
Overall I love the volumized wigs as you have more hair to work with, sometimes this volume is last thing you need is a wig so thin, your bald head shows through the wefts. They are easier to style and look more natural I reckon. Of course, they have a bunch of poof to them, that gives the look of volume. I had long dark brown hair prior to chemo and each time I put on that long dark brown wig, I’m pretty sure I find myself saddened and frustrated striving to make the wig look like my old hair. Another plus to the shorter styles is they get less tangled and are cooler to wear. That is interesting. One way to cool down and minimize tangling is to pull the long wiginto a low bun or twist.
Now on to wigs, that I have found to be so fun!
I used this trick when I was in a friend’s wedding and wanted to match the other girls’ updos.
You shouldn’t rule out any styles until you give them a try. You can easily try out that hairstyle or color you never had the guts to try before. I did that with my first wig and I rarely wear it. Also, go and leave the hair loose around the ears to hide the edge of the wig. Long wigs can be hot and get very tangled. Actually I have found my two short wigs to be my favorites, I’m almost sure I never thought I liked short hair on my face shape. Write the thing is, they won’t make you look exactly like you did before chemo being that you’ve changed and you’ll see yourself differently, the wigs these days are amazing and they look like real hair. My biggest suggestion when picking a wig is NOT to pick one that looks like your hair was before chemotherapy. I found it was easier to embrace the new me in a brand new look rather than try to wear a cut color that mimicked the old me.
Wig shopping is a process and I don’t look for you to go in blind. Before you go shopping, do your research.
Make an appointment at a wig salon and go in with an open mind, only after you’ve done your research.
Maybe you love that short sassy redish look or the long blonde curls. It’s your chance to cover a tally new persona and let a really new side of you shine through. Yes, that’s right! Own it and your confidence will radiate. Trying on multiple wigs should be fun and it will give you a chance to see yourself in a brand new light. Now please pay attention. I have organized the most important information into six categories and I hope you find it helpful. I was aiming to write another post about hair loss for quite a while. It’s the inside that matters, This experience stuck with her and she wanted young girlsgoing through hair loss to realize that it was not what’s on the outside that makes you beautiful. Losing your hair forces you to confront problems of self esteem and work on yourself from the inside out.
I was inspired by this article about Clare Bowen from the show Nashville who recently cut off her long beautiful hair.
Which caused her to lose all her hair, as a child Sara battled nephroblastoma.
One quote from this article that really hit home for me ‘wasSelf esteem’ takes a lot longer to grow back than hair. They have a lot of beautiful gently used scarves. Since carry on check the tags to be sure they are washable. That said, I decided to own this experience and take it as an opportunity to add a brand new look to my repertoire.
Being forced to change your appearance can make you feel like a victim.
It’s our armor and protection from the world.
Another place to look is thrift stores. For those of you who look for to go the head scarf route, I would suggest you first check with your cancer hospital resource center. We as women struggle with hair loss, as hair is tied to our identity, as I mentioned in my last post about hair. While beautiful make me feel like I’m screaming I HAVE CANCER, hats, and headscarves. Losing your hair can make you feel naked and exposed. Essentially, for awesome scarf tying tutorials take a look at YouTube, specifically this channel by Zukreat. Usually, I want to pass. Then, I received ns of beautiful scarves from mine. Remember, I seek for to shed light on the various other resources available for those of you that haven’t worked up the courage to go bald yet or just don’t like that look on yourself, as much as I’m working on my ‘selfconfidence’ and rocking the bald head at times. They have not been my go to resource, I still occasionally wear ‘headscarves’ for comfort and warmth. Hair is an ol for quickly changing our appearance to stay current with the recent fashion trends and it helps us fit in. Plenty of information can be found easily by going online. I don’t look for strangers to know I have cancer and I don’t need to draw attention to myself in that way.
