Flat or Volume. Some synthetic wigs are created with premade volume.
The wigs that appear more flat tend to be thinner and are harder to style and amp up.
By the way, the last thing you seek for is a wig so thin, your bald head shows through the wefts. Overall I love the volumized wigs since you have more hair to work with, sometimes this volume is I reckon. They have loads of poof to them, that gives the look of volume. It’s difficult to find the time or the energy to write and all I seem to look for to do is sleep.I guess that’s just cancer sometimes you just don’t have energy for anythingelse but survival and I am learning to accept that.
That said, this chemo thing is no joke, Know what, I apologize for the delay in posting.
I am doing best in order to keep some semblance of my normal life and I am still working full scale aside from chemo and recovery days.
I am constantly exhausted and it seems that life never slows down. I can’t stress this enough! I have had so many people compliment me when I am wearing my wigs. Remember, they are usually blown away to learn that they are not my natural hair. Of course, choosing a wig with highlights make it appear more real and add dimension to your look. Look for a wig with highlights So if you seek for the wig to look natural. For example, highlights or Monotone? Basically, highlights all the way. My biggest suggestion when picking a wig is NOT to pick one that looks like your hair was before chemotherapy. Just keep reading! I found it was easier to embrace the new me in a completely new look rather than try to wear a cut color that mimicked the old me. You can easily try out that hairstyle or color you never had the guts to try before. A well-known fact that is. I did that with my first wig and I rarely wear it.
I had long brownish hair prior to chemo and nearly any time I put on that long brownish wig, Actually I find myself saddened and frustrated striving to make the wig look like my old hair.
The thing is, they won’t make you look exactly like you did before chemo as you’ve changed and you’ll see yourself differently, the wigs these days are amazing and they look like real hair.
So do not rule out any styles until you give them a try. So long wigs can be hot and get very tangled. Fact, go on and leave the hair loose around the ears to hide the edge of the wig. There is more information about this stuff on this website. One way to cool down and minimize tangling is to pull the long wiginto a low bun or twist. Besides, I have found my two short wigs to be my favorites, By the way I never thought I liked short hair on my face shape. I used this trick when I was in a friend’s wedding and wanted to match the other girls’ updos.
Now on to wigs, that I have found to be so fun! Another plus to the shorter styles is they get less tangled and are cooler to wear. Trying on multiple wigs might be fun and it will give you a chance to see yourself in a brand new light. Maybe you love that short sassy light red look or the long blonde curls. Own it and your confidence will radiate. I have organized the most important information into six categories and I hope you find it helpful. It is it is your chance to acquire a really new persona and let a brand new side of you shine through. Wig shopping is a process and I don’t seek for you to go in blind. Before you go shopping, do your research.
Make an appointment at a wig salon and go in with an open mind, whenever you’ve done your research.
It’s the inside that matters, This experience stuck with her and she wanted young girlsgoing through hair loss to realize that it ain’t what’s on the outside that makes you beautiful.
Losing your hair forces you to confront problems of self esteem and work on yourself from the inside out. One quote from this article that really hit home for me wasSelf esteem takes a lot longer to grow back than hair. I was inspired by this article about Clare Bowen from the show Nashville who recently cut off her long beautiful hair. I’ve been aiming to write another post about hair loss for quite a while. Which caused her to lose all her hair, as a child Sara battled nephroblastoma. Furthermore, hair is an ol for quickly changing our appearance to stay current with the recent fashion trends and it helps us fit in. That said, losing your hair can make you feel naked and exposed. Then, I don’t seek for strangers to know I have cancer and I don’t seek for to draw attention to myself in that way.
They have a slew of beautiful gently used scarves.
I decided to own this experience and take it as an opportunity to add a brand new look to my repertoire.
We as women struggle with hair loss, as hair is tied to our identity, as I mentioned in my last post about hair. Consequently, I received ns of beautiful scarves from mine. For those of you who seek for to go the head scarf route, I actually would suggest you first check with your cancer hospital resource center. I’m almost sure I want to shed light on the various other resources available for those of you that haven’t worked up the courage to go bald yet or just don’t like that look on yourself, as much as I was working on my ‘self confidence’ and rocking the bald head at times. However, normally, I want to pass. You should take this seriously. Being forced to change your appearance can make you feel like a victim. They have not been my go to resource, By the way I still occasionally wear headscarves for comfort and warmth. While beautiful make me feel like I’m screaming I HAVE CANCER, hats, and head scarves. Let me tell you something. Another place to look is thrift stores. As long as carry on check the tags to be sure they are washable. For awesome scarf tying tutorials check YouTube, specifically this channel by Zukreat. It’s our armor and protection from the world. I’d look for a wig shop in your area and go try both.
Less washing, and suchlike like real hair.
I have also heard that human hair wigs are hotter on your head, that is a major downside to wigs generally speaking.
All the best with chemo!!!! My wigs were all synthetic being that they are easier to care for. One downside is that I could not use heat styling ols on them. Know what, I didn’t style them much, I just chose short styles that I could brush, shape and go, to be honest though. Basically the synthetic styles keep the shape and style better than the human hair wigs. Another option is to get hats with hair, or wigs, attached to them. Thank you very much for sharing the headscarf tutorials! So, this site sells some really great ones. They don’t work all year round but winter and fall they’re great.
Lace Front Wig or Basic CapWig?
Ultimately, I reckon it depends on the style of the wig.
Full capwigs likewise have a thick edge along the hairline and are not meant to blend as naturally. So it’s difficult to tell the major differences in the pictures, By the way I have included pictures of both on me below. Since you can tuck plenty of the hair back without it showing the wig edges, I have found full cap wigs with volume and bangs to be top. I have tried both and I have to say for me, I reckon the basic capwigs work better. Normally, you can’t pull your hair back on these wigs being that the edge will show. Lace front wigs have a lace edge that is trimmed along your hairline and the base where the hairs attach to the lace is meant to blend with your scalp and natural hair.
