I am aiming to write another post about hair loss for some time.
Which caused her to lose all her hair, as a child Sara battled nephroblastoma.
I was inspired by this article about Clare Bowen from the show Nashville who recently cut off her long beautiful hair. Fact, one quote from this article that really hit home for me ‘wasSelfesteem’ takes a lot longer to grow back than hair. Losing your hair forces you to confront problems of self esteem and work on yourself from the inside out. On p of that, it’s the inside that matters, This experience stuck with her and she wanted young girlsgoing through hair loss to realize that it was not what’s on the outside that makes you beautiful. This is the case. Choosing a wig with highlights make it appear more real and add dimension to your look.
I can not stress this enough!
I have had so many people compliment me when I am wearing my wigs.
Highlights all the way. Of course, look for a wig with highlights So if you need the wig to look natural. Highlights or Monotone? You should take it into account. They are usually blown away to learn that they are not my natural hair. I’m sure you heard about this. Surely it’s our armor and protection from the world. Keep reading. Another place to look is thrift stores. Then again, they have not been my go to resource, I’m almost sure I still occasionally wear headscarves for comfort and warmth. I want to shed light on the various other resources available for those of you that haven’t worked up the courage to go bald yet or just don’t like that look on yourself, as much as I was working on my selfconfidence and rocking the bald head at times. That’s right! They have a slew of beautiful gently used scarves. While beautiful make me feel like I’m screaming I HAVE CANCER, hats, and head scarves.
I received ns of beautiful scarves from mine.
I don’t need strangers to know I have cancer and I don’t look for to draw attention to myself in that way.
Being forced to change your appearance can make you feel like a victim. For those of you who need to go the head scarf route, To be honest I would suggest you first check with your cancer hospital resource center. We as women struggle with hair loss, since hair is tied to our identity, as I mentioned in my last post about hair. Just think for a moment. All of the time, To be honest I want to pass. As long as check the tags to ensure they are washable. Hair is an ol for quickly changing our appearance to stay current with the recent fashion trends and it helps us fit in. I decided to own this experience and take it as an opportunity to add a brand new look to my repertoire. Losing your hair can make you feel naked and exposed. For awesome scarf tying tutorials check YouTube, specifically this channel by Zukreat. That said, maybe you love that short sassy light red look or the long blonde curls.
Own it and your confidence will radiate.
Wig shopping is a process and I don’t seek for you to go in blind. Before you go shopping, do your research.
Trying on multiple wigs may be fun and it will give you a chance to see yourself in a brand new light. Make an appointment at a wig salon and go in with an open mind, when you’ve done your research. I have organized the most important information into six categories and I hope you find it helpful. So that’s your chance to take a completely new persona and let a brand new side of you shine through. Overall I love the volumized wigs as you have more hair to work with, sometimes this volume is last thing you need is a wig so thin, your bald head shows through the wefts.
They have lots of poof to them, that gives the look of volume.
Flat or Volume. Some synthetic wigs are created with pre made volume.
They are easier to style and look more natural from my point of view. So, it’s a problem to find the time or the energy to write and all I seem to look for to do is sleep.I guess that’s just cancer sometimes you just don’t have energy for anythingelse but survival and I am learning to accept that. I am constantly exhausted and it seems that life never slows down. Known I am striving to keep some semblance of my normal life and I am still working full scale aside from chemo and recovery days. With that said, this chemo thing is no joke, To be honest I apologize for the delay in posting. Therefore this site sells some really great ones. Thank you a lot for sharing the headscarf tutorials! They don’t work all year round but winter and fall they’re great.
Another option is to get hats with hair, or wigs, attached to them.
Now on to wigs, that I have found to be so fun!
Carry on leave the hair loose around the ears to hide the edge of the wig. Long wigs can be hot and get very tangled. With that said, another plus to the shorter styles is they get less tangled and are cooler to wear. It’s a well one way to cool down and minimize tangling is to pull the long wiginto a low bun or twist. For instance, I have found my two short wigs to be my favorites, To be honest I never thought I liked short hair on my face shape.
I found it was easier to embrace the new me in a brand new look rather than try to wear a cut color that mimicked the old me.
You can easily try out that hairstyle or color you never had the guts to try before.
Make sure you do not rule out any styles until you give them a try. I had long brownish hair prior to chemo and each time I put on that long brownish wig, I’m almost sure I find myself saddened and frustrated attempting to make the wig look like my old hair. Thing is, they won’t make you look exactly like you did before chemo as long as you’ve changed and you’ll see yourself differently, the wigs these days are amazing and they look like real hair. It is my biggest suggestion when picking a wig is NOT to pick one that looks like your hair was before chemotherapy. I used this trick when I was in a friend’s wedding and wanted to match the other girls’ updos. I did that with my first wig and I rarely wear it. Anyways, I didn’t style them much, I just chose short styles that I could brush, shape and go, to be honest though.
I’d look for a wig shop in your area and go try both.
Less washing, and similar like real hair.
I have also heard that human hair wigs are hotter on your head, that is a major downside to wigs all in all. My wigs were all synthetic as long as they are easier to care for. All the best with chemo!!!! One downside is that I could not use heat styling ols on them. As a result, the synthetic styles keep the shape and style better than the human hair wigs. Ultimately, in my opinion it depends on the style of the wig. And now here is the question. Lace Front Wig or Basic CapWig? Nevertheless, a lace front wig with bangs should resolve this issue and make the hairline seem more natural. Full capwigs besides have a thick edge along the hairline and are not meant to blend as naturally. Undoubtedly it’s difficult to tell the major differences in the pictures, I actually have included pictures of both on me below.
