So here’s the question. Who did you ultimately go with?
I eventually started to tell people to shut them up as they could see how much it hurt my son.
He didn’t feel the need to tell people. My nine year old enough son is growing his for over a year and to is teased by kids and adults!!!
Breaks my heart. Pathetic! My husband donated too. Nonetheless, yes we do Rachel! Well we went with Children with Hair Loss. Essentially, it was quite good. Since they been able to grow my hair out, I actually have let it for about three years now, I am an adult and love my long hair, Know what, I don’t look good with it. I get stared at and smartass comments I’m almost sure I may make it, to hear of kids willing to deal with growing their hair out to donate. I am cutting mine off, and looking for a charity to donate to. All in all, it’s quite helpful to have one place to look to make sure about a couple of organizations and find out which works better for us to donate. Thank you very much for compliling this information! You should make this seriously. There’re a couple things that may need updated about Locks of Love.
Shorter hair should be separated from the ponytails and sold to offset the manufacturing costs.
Their website states Gray hair should be accepted and sold to offset manufacturing costs.
It still greatly helps to reduce costs, shorter hair can not be used in hairpieces.
They in addition state Layered hair is acceptable if longest layer probably was ten inches. They will accept gray hair. SELLS our donated hair to cancer patients. That’s right! Why was always locks of love on this list? This is where it starts getting pretty entertaining, right? They Started out as nonprofit to build a name for themselves and now that are abusing system and taking advatage of people generosity to make gains. It is believe Pantene program is for grown women and AFAIK does not charge patients. Any charities that will make six hair inches?
I need to donate my son’s hair but I know it’s not in a ponytail or braid, does anyone understand somewhere that will get it?
What actually is better organization to donate to?
I have highlights solely around the crown and rather low lights through out. Help? I had 20 inches cut and it’s highlighted/colored. I can’t figure out a place that will accept donation. Is usually there a charity that they will donate my hair to Lock instead for Love charity to mostly deals with children? I am a 58 yr it’s something worth looking in to.
